Safety recommendations

  • Assume no one can see you. Always stop at red lights and signal your intent to turn.
  • On the trails and in congested areas, use the motor sparingly.
  • Gently use the bell to alert pedestrians, joggers and dogs if you intend to pass them, in blind spots or upcoming turns.
  • On all roads and paths keep to the left hand side follow all applicable traffic laws when riding on public roads and highways.
  • Please do not use the bicycle hired in water including seawater, on sand, through rubble or excessively muddy tracks.
  • Please do not use the electric assistance on the bicycle alone up steep hills. Pedals must be used at all times while climbing hills.
  • Do not ride the bicycle into or off street curbs or impact the tyres unnecessarily in any way.
  • Hired bicycle can only be ridden by the hirer and not be ridden by anyone incapable of safely riding the bicycle due to any alcohol, drugs or drowsiness.
  • In the event that a minor/s under the age of 15 years is hiring a bicycle(s), a parent or guardian must accompany them. The parent or guardian must agree to hold newcastle electric bikes harmless from any claims, which are brought on by, or on behalf of a minor/s.
  • The use of an electric bike is not the same as the use of a pedal push bike. Please be aware of the risks involved when using an electric bike and speak to our staff should you have any questions or concerns.
